WBCS(EXECUTIVE) ETC, EXAMINATION, 2011

Advertisement of WBCS(Executive) ETC. EXAMINATION, 2001 has been published by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal on 21/08/2010 on leading newspapers.
Brief Information:
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. A Degree of Rrecognised University
    2. Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali ( not required for recruitment in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from hill areas of Darjeeling).
  • AGE:
    1. On First January, 2011-for candidates competing for Group(s) A, C and D- not below 21 years but not more than 32 years that is born not earlier than 02/01/1979 and not later than 01/01/1990.
    2. For Group B- not below 20 years and not more than 32 years that is born not earlier than 02/01/1979 and not later than 01/01/1991.
    3. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates of West Bengal and by 3 years for BC candidates of West Bengal and upto 45 years of age for persons with disabilities having Physical Disability of 40% and above.
    4. SC/ST/BC candidates not belonging to the state of West Bengal shall be trated as General Candidates.
  • The Preliminary Examination will be held at various centres in West Bengal in January, 2011 or thereabout.
  • The Main Examination will be held in Kolkata only in June, 2011 or thereabout.

    If your cut-off is 129 net, I mean without any negative marks then you should engage in mains preparation. Having the PH quota you can easily crack prelim. All the best.

    Anyone having a Bachelor degree (in any stream or in any subject) can appear for WBCS(Exe) & Etc exam. But before applying for the exam, you've to collect you Graduation certificate as it is compulsory to send a copy of graduation certificate alongwith the application form.

    Yes you can try WBCS. You've to go through the whole syllabus first then start preparing yourself in home. Later you can join any coaching center (like RICE - the superb) for ultimate coaching. Then you'll be fully prepared for your exam. You can try WBCS 2012 or 2013. All the best.

    anyone who believea that group b service is tje best then u r a "dumb ass". be careful of wherw u tread my friend cause looks may b misleading. i say if i u value your family then go for commwrcial tax officer, adsr, food n supplies, stamp n revenue, ........ let ur last preference b executive and then the police service if u have to. bwlieve me, becauae i am in group b for 3 years and my life has been hell. i am appearing again in 2011.

    I think the cut off for wbcs 2012 would be within 110. The paper seemed to me much tougher than that of the previous year.

    I think it should be around 105-100.Last year it was 101,English is little easier than that of last year,but no tricky questions is increased,according to RICE for gen 102 to 98 for obc 95 and sc around 90,those who have scored over 110 can fancy their chances and should start preparing for the mains which is scheduled to be on last week of may or 1st week of june

    Hi dr friends i am back for some reason i was Chennai.
    1)the result is scheduled to be come out three months form the date of exam,probably last week of April or 1st week of May.
    2)cut off marks of PSC misc is expected to be around 108 to 113 for gen candidates.
    3) Lopa Wait for some days the PARIPREKHITA magazine will come out with solved paper very soon.
    4)Ya psc has again proved themselves outdated idiot the 1st question regarding literacy rate of WB as per 2001 census was 68.64% but here what they done is jumbled the figure so the ans is 64.84%
    and for the 2nd one even I don't know till now
    5)No my friend its champaran i can assured you 200%.
    6)You can see the pattern they have done it every year,its there way of thinking,that is you have to know the correct ans if the correct one is not there you have to know the alternate one.
    7)IF you are a gen candidate securing 85 marks then probably its not going to work.But don't loose hope dr friend.
    8)If u completed or it will be completed before the publication of next year's WBCS exam advertisement u can wrote WBCS exam
    9)Hi subhasis, you probably will start prep for the next stage.
    10)Look buddy if u r a st candidate and corrected 97 questions its fine for you but U did not mention any thing regarding no of attempted ques.
    11)I have already told you guys for sc cand the cut should be around 90 after deducting negatives.

    Look buddy it is very difficult predict at this point of time but still I can give you an idea.If u scored below 55% but more than 50% you will qualify for GROUP A more than 55% EX A,below 50% but more than 45% you will qualify for GROUP B,if scored around 42% u will qualify for Gr-c,and more than 38% you will qualify for Gr D.

    I want to say something guys there at least five to eight questions which are very confusing for eg. THE ACT OF 1919 IS KNOWN AS-THE ANSWER COULD BE ROWLAT ACT OR MONT FORD ACT,so dont confuse yourself, anything under 95 for gen candidates start prep for mains.

    Could anyone suggest in which month the main of wbcs 2012 will be held?in the advertisement it was written in the later part of this year...does it mean within july to december?
